Chief Inspector Nick Rook has spent his 22 years’ service in various departments from Firearms, District, and NPAS to senior management teams. Throughout his career Nick has ensured that West Yorkshire Police is an inclusive environment to work in. This exceptional diversity champion has been identified as a force role model in his approach to his recent disability diagnosis and also a role model for RNIB, where he has promoted on local radio the ability to remain employed in a valued and meaningful job with sight impairment. Nick has championed and supported staff in WYP with reasonable adjustments, educating and guiding individuals to the right help and support needed for that person. Nick has gone on to become Deputy Chair of West Yorkshire Police Disability Association, where he spends much of his own free time offering support and advice to officers and staff effected by disability.
