The Inclusion Passport is the House of Lords development of the ‘reasonable adjustment process’ for colleagues. The tool goes above and beyond best practice in this area by encompassing frequent religious practice and menopause, as well as disability and gender reassignment. A large-scale consultation took place across the organisation in September/October 2018, which engaged with colleagues from all levels, working in various rhythms (such as part-time, or shift work) and those returning from extended leave or career break. The tool was purposely designed to be a more straight-forward and informal tool, in comparison to the extensive 5 page document that had previously been in use by Parliament. It has been designed as a ‘voluntary talking tool’ to facilitate colleagues having positive and constructive conversations with their line managers about any adjustments they may require in the workplace.
